domestic arts

A friend of mine once told me I was domestic. I have been called Suzy Homemaker all of my life so I took it as a complement. My dream job has always been to be a full-time homemaker and I hold a degree in Domestic Arts.

I would imagine the job details would look something like this.

Description: Manager of Domestic Arts

Domestic Arts Manager Purpose: To run and manage a home.

Job duties: Must be able to provide a clean and comfortable home, keep a well stocked pantry, and perform household cleaning duties. Must be able to garden, drive a tractor and help with butchering when needed. Must be able balance a budget, repair torn work jeans, and cook a dinner in 20 minutes.

Skills/Qualifications: 

  • Be able to balance a monthly budget and be able to live within income means
  • Be able to tackle any stain or mess without using harsh chemicals
  • See to weekly maintenance of kitchen gardens
  • Be able to withstand heat, sleet, snow and rain to care for farm animals
  • Be able to can and preserve
  • Be able make healthy meals without relying on prepackaged foods
  • Being a loving caregiver

Hours/Salary: Must be willing to put in long hours with little pay, except for an abundance of daily hugs and kisses from a very grateful husband.
