Me and my granddaughter
While I was talking to my sister-in-law last night I started to think about the role of a woman and how it has changed over the years. Both of us agreed that what God intended for us as women has really been altered. Some women thrive in the new age role of a woman but others like myself and my sister-in-law are completely comfortable in the role that God had in mind.

Now please don’t get me wrong I am not putting down those women that flourish in being a career minded person, my daughter is one of them and I am so very proud of her accomplishments and marvel at her determination and endurance every day. Some, like my daughter excel and get their strength from the jobs they hold where others like me get their strength and satisfaction from taking care of their home and family. I do know that my daughter’s daughter will be a very well rounded young lady when she grows up. She will have watched her mother exceed in a corporate world all while watching her grandmother keep the values of a homemaker alive and well.

It is an art…that of woman…one that needs to be taught to our girls and one that cannot be lost in today’s new age role of a woman. I am so happy that I have a few women and girls in my life that I can pass on the true role of a woman…just as God intended.

Here is a list of what I feel my job as a woman is:
- cares deeply and respects her husband and follows his lead
- the main care taker of her home
- hard working, thrifty and industrious
- gets enjoyment from a clean home
- provides healthy home cooked meals
- adores her children and sees to their needs
- loves the Lord and see her family follows his lead
- is gentle and feminine

Love this post! And I totally agree with you on all points. I, for one, have had my time in the corporate world where I made decent money as a Graphic Designer. But, all the money in the world does not fulfill me like being a homemaker does. I thoroughly enjoy my God-given role in life!
I love the idea of being a homemaker. I guess you could say I am a part time home maker. I am not married and have no choice but to work. But where I’m truly happy is at home taking care of all the things you mentioned. It would be a dream come true if I could do that full time.
