What is free space? The open, uncluttered spaces that make up a home and simplify your life.
Do you ever walk into your home and feel like your life is not in balance? Do you feel overwhelmed and stressed the minute you walk in?
If your home is cluttered and chaotic the natural balance of life is disturbed. Your home should be the place you seek peace and relaxation and should be simplistic and carefree. If you take charge of your life by eliminating the clutter in your space you will immediately feel calmer and at peace and you will start to simplify your life.
Take a few minutes to walk through your home. Look at the things that fill each room and determine if there are things that can be eliminated from your space.
What can you pull from the room that you have not used in the last six months.
Is everything in the room either functional or sentimental and eliminate the rest.
We all need a set amount of free space to feel at peace and that includes our homes. If our homes are filled with useless items that just take up space our free space is compromised leaving us feeling overwhelmed and unbalanced. Clutter is a form of visual distraction, and everything we see pulls our attention away from relaxation. The less clutter we have the less visual stress we see. When you stop and think about the true purpose of the things in your space, you can make a better decision if the extra items filling your space are needed.
Living a simpler life does not mean you need to throw everything away it means taking what you have and finding its true purpose and eliminating the rest.
Have nothing in your homes that you do not know to be useful or believe to be beautiful.” William Morris.
