DIY Fall Scents Made Easy
You’ve gone to the pumpkin farm, picked out the perfect jack-o’-lantern, carved it to perfection and now have it displayed proudly on your front porch or dining room table. Now it’s time to enjoy the fall scents of pumpkin spice.
We wait all year for the sights and smells of fall, and I like nothing more than to make the season last as long as possible. I’ve found an excellent way to enjoy the sweet smell of pumpkin spice in my autumn decorations.
After I carve my pumpkin, I sprinkle nutmeg and cinnamon inside the pumpkin. When I light the candle the heat from the candle warms the spices and gives off a wonderful fall scent.
Before you bring that perfect pumpkin home, don’t forget to stock up on all your favorite pumpkin carving supplies:
Here are a few more ways to make your home smell like Fall using essential oils.
Head to the woods and gather a few large pine cones. Bake them in the oven at 200F for one hour. After they have cooled, add a few drops of your favorite fall scented essential oil and put them in an air-tight container for one week. After a week remove them from the container and display them in a pretty autumn bowl.
Sprinkle a few drops of essential oil to a cotton ball and place in your vacuum’s bag. As you vacuum your home the smell will freshen the air.
Drop two drops of cinnamon essential oil to the top of your light bulb while the light is turned OFF. When you flip on the lamp the heat of the bulb will add the sweet smell of cinnamon throughout the room.
Happy Fall Y’all!
