Out my kitchen window
Everyday the view out my window looks different. The sky may be a pretty shade of pink when the sun is about to set or it may be a bright blue sunny South Carolina day. No matter what I see I can’t help but pinch myself to make sure I’m not dreaming. It took us so long to get here that realizing we’re living in the country and I see nothing but nature all round brings me joy.

Cocky calling for his favorite hen

The sweet smell of spring flowers is in the air
Today as I wash a sink full of dishes I can’t help but notice what I hear and not so much what I see. The rooster is making noise trying to get the attention of his favorite hen, my laundry is flapping in the breeze, the birds are singing and the neighbors cows are mooing. The sounds of the country are as amazing as the sights today!

Enjoying a frolic through the pasture

The strawberry pot is full of blossoms
Not sure what tomorrow will hold, but I can be certain it will produce a beauty all of its own. I spend a good part of my day at this window and each day I am grateful for the view.
We each have a view unlike anyone else…please share with me the view out your kitchen window today!

So happy for you that you are living your dream life. I seem to appreciate the sights and sounds in our yard more at this time of year. The birds certainly help to bring the outdoors in with their songs!
Enjoy your weekend.
Tracy I love this. I’ve written about looking out my kitchen window before, especially on a snow day when the birds were all over. My grandson loves me to pick him up and let him look out over my sink, and sometimes he will go over to the dining room and watch the birds outside.
Love your pictures. I know that it’s relaxing looking out your window.
I spend so much time at my kitchen sink that is the one place in the house I have time to really study what goes on out my window. What great memories you are making for your grandson!
I LOVED this post!!
My daughter and son-in-law always joke with me that they can’t believe I like doing dishes. I just find it relaxing to have my hands in the warm, soapy water as I look out my kitchen window.
In the Fall and Winter, I see two fields surrounded by rock walls, where many times a huge red tail hawk perches in one of the far off trees.
In the spring and summer, when a small tree my husband planted is full with leaves, it casts a shadow on the ground that looks like the Irish tree symbol.
In the evenings, I can see beautiful sunsets outside my kitchen window.
South Carolina is beautiful! How blessed you are to live there and how beautiful the scenes out your kitchen window are. 🙂
I love your description of what you see! Thank you so much for sharing it with me. We have a red tail hawk that comes every spring as well. When I start seeing him I have to lock the chickens up for a couple weeks, but I love seeing him return every spring.
Today we had sunshine, and chickens out of our kitchen window, as we put the chickens out the back of the house for the first time since before winter. We also had washing hanging outdoors for the first time this year!
Don’t you just love the smell of freshly dried laundry? There is no other smell like it!
Hi Tracy,
This was beautiful. My kitchen window looks out over our circle drive. Everything is getting green and the flowers are beginning to come up.
I miss chickens. Maybe we’ll try again.

I just love this time of year…everything looks fresh and new. I love seeing our chickens run through the yard, they really add life to the farm.
Isn’t is a blessing to have such country views! It took us awhile to get to this point also and so I appreciate it very much! Thank you for sharing this week on the Art of Home-Making Mondays Tracy! 🙂
I often look out my window in appreciation for what we have here, too. I love your pictures and the pictures you paint with your words here!
Enjoying the view and beauty in the simple things is one of my favorite things 🙂 Thanks for sharing a little piece of your world with us at Brag About It!

You’re wise to enjoy the beauty of each day as it comes. What lovely scenes.
Nice view. Outside my kitchen window I look across the lake on which my cabin floats to the forest on the far shore. I’ve seen river otters, lots of birds, neighbours going to their cabins, and even water spouts on stormy days. – Margy
